“True, whole prayer is nothing but love.” So says St. Augustine, and Richard J. Foster begins and concludes his book, “Prayer – Finding the Heart’s True Home” with that very concise quote. What, then, does he imagine by this term “radical prayer” in his concluding chapter? I believe he is saying that this very radical notion of prayer itself is to be lived out in one’s everyday life – in community as we are taught – and that there are implications to this for our very way of being.
