It seems pretty clear that there are worldwide hard times ahead. It also seems pretty clear that the Episcopal church in its present form is going to have a more and more limited role in shaping the path that our society takes in navigating the troubles of the future. The aging of the church – average age now 62 vs. the national average of 32 – unless it is reversed — is a clear indication of its diminishing influence.
